The first visit to a fertility clinic can feel overwhelming. Going prepared makes it shorter, cheaper and far more useful. Here is a simple checklist for your first IVF consultation in Delhi.
Documents to Carry
- All previous blood tests (AMH, thyroid, prolactin, FSH/LH).
- Ultrasound and HSG reports.
- Semen analysis reports.
- Details of past IUI/IVF cycles — medicines, number of eggs and embryos.
- Records of past pregnancies or miscarriages.
Questions to Ask the Doctor
- What is the likely cause of our infertility?
- What treatment do you suggest and why?
- How many cycles might we need?
- What does the package include, and what costs extra?
- Can extra embryos be frozen?
What Happens at the First Visit
- A detailed talk about your medical history, cycles, past pregnancies and earlier treatments.
- Basic tests for the woman: AMH blood test, hormone profile and a transvaginal ultrasound to count follicles.
- Semen analysis for the male partner.
- A tube test (HSG or sono-HSG) if needed.
- A clear treatment plan — timed intercourse, IUI, IVF or ICSI — based on the reports, not guesswork.
