The Importance of Uterine Timing
For a successful pregnancy, the embryo must be transferred when the endometrial lining is fully receptive. This specific timing is called the "window of implantation." For most women, this window occurs after 5 days of progesterone exposure. However, nearly 20-30% of women have a displaced window, meaning their lining is receptive earlier or later than average.
What is the ERA (Endometrial Receptivity Analysis) Test?
The ERA test is a molecular diagnostic test that evaluates the expression of 248 genes in a tiny endometrial biopsy sample. It determines if the endometrium is receptive at the standard transfer time. If it is non-receptive, the report tells us exactly how many hours of progesterone exposure your body requires, allowing us to perform a personalized embryo transfer (pET).
Who Should Consider the ERA Test?
Our South Delhi specialists recommend the ERA test for:
- Repeated Implantation Failure: Couples who have had 2 or more failed transfers with good-quality blastocysts.
- Precious Embryos: When a patient has a limited number of normal embryos and wants to ensure the highest chance of success.
